It's All About Push

Pushing yourself to the limit is so very important.  If you want to advance to a new level or even master the level that you are currently on, you must push yourself.   If you've been following my blog for long you know I have a love/hate relationship with the gym, nevertheless, I've been pushing myself to stick with the routine that I've created.  When I don't feel like going I must push myself even harder.

Giving up is so easy.  Allowing distractions to consume you is so easy.  But it's the push that's the most difficult...at least in my case.  For example, it's easy for me to decide that to allocate "gym time" to study time or quality time with my husband.   While those are good reason because maintaining your relationships are especially important you shouldn't sacrifice your personal health.  When I finally build up the willpower to get to the gym it becomes easier.  My motivation increases (of course I'm playing all of my iTunes best LOL) and I power through my workout.

The American Heart Association states that you we should work out 30 mins a day per week (Link to AHA-Physical Activity).  That's 150 mins a week.  It's certainly doable and it gets me out of the house.  At times I can go a little stir crazy when I've been in the house all day.  Anyway, 30 minutes is the length of a decent tv show and courtesy of technology I can combine the two! And believe me I do LOL.

I have a goal in mind and I'd like to see it accomplished.  There have been some discouraging moments and when school starts back getting to the gym gets even harder, but I want to keep this up.  I want to make my health more of a priority.  Being in medical school and learning about the effects of diabetes and coronary artery disease is no fun when you think this could happen to me.  So to that I say, NO MA'AM, NO HAM, NO THANK YOU! lol.

Push on my people...push on!

  1. Thanks for linking up this inspirational post with MM today. I need to push myself in just about everything, I have gotten complacent and there isn't much pushing going on. I will push!

    1. It is so easy to become complacent. Sometimes the push gets tiring but it's so necessary. Thanks for reading my blog!

  2. Totally agree with your post. I used to think that I need an hour of sweating to get a "good workout". With 3 kids, it's just hard to carve out an hour. Then I just started NOT doing any type of cardio. I am paying for it as the pregnancy weight is not totally off....
Now I am "pushing" myself for 20-30 minutes each day. And voila I am actually working out 5-6x per week!
    Thanks for the post.
    Visiting from MM.
